This is a student-created quiz and I have had some feedback from users regarding questions 1 and 3. Question 1: Wouldn’t biomagnification be the better term to describe the movement of a pollutant up the food chain, as bioaccumulation generally refers to the increased concentrations of a pollutant when rate of intake exceeds rate of excretion? Question 3: While “thermometers” is the obvious answer, mercury can be found in trace concentrations with all hydrocarbons – natural gas is a hydrocarbon, and thus it would also be likely to contain some mercury.
Thank you for your comments.
